The online training webinar series on groundwater management in Integrated Water Resources Management was launched on Monday, November 2, at 3 pm Beirut time. The AWARENET Coordinator Mrs. Dima Kharbotli presented an overview of the network and its most prominent activities. Then, Mr. Ziad Khayyat, from ESCWA, presented the first training module on IWRM and Groundwater Management Framework.

The training aims to raise the level of knowledge and enhance understanding of the complex nature and cross-sectorial challenges facing the integrated water resources management of groundwater in the Arab region
The training will be delivered at a rate of two virtual sessions per week on Mondays and Thursdays, starting Monday, November 2 until Monday, December 7, 2020, from 15:00 to 16:00, Beirut time.
The sessions consist of 45 to 50 minutes presentations followed by an interactive session (15 to 20 minutes) where participants can interact with trainers and engage in exchange among each other on issues raised throughout the training.
