AWARENET has launched the training webinar on the “Assessment of Climate Change impacts on Groundwater Resources”, organized in collaboration between AWARENET, Cap-Net and ESCWA and is taking place from 2 to 11 November, 2021.
The training draws upon regional climate and hydrological projections generated under RICCAR and demonstrates how GIS tools can support the assessment of climate change impacts on groundwater. The training aims to develop Arab regional capacities to support decision making and policy formulation regarding the efficient use and allocation of the increasingly scarce groundwater resources under changing climate conditions.
The training consists on 4 modules covering the use of climate data, application of hydrogeological modelling to groundwater resources with applications considering changing climate conditions with examples from the Arab region.
The sessions are taking place at 15:00 (GMT +2), Beirut time and consist of 60 minutes presentations followed by a 15 minutes Q&A session.
Participation in the training requires previous knowledge and background in groundwater modelling and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Further additional information can be found in the attached flyer.
