The decision to establish this Hydrogeological ModellingCoP within AWARENET responds to the growing need for improved hydrogeological modelling capacity as identified during various water-related meetings and workshops across the Arab region.
The aim for establishing this network is to serve as a repository for regional modelling case studies and tools; and through which training workshops would be delivered on a regular basis. The meeting took place on Wednesday 28 May, 2025 at 1pm Beirut time.
The meeting started by introducing the objectives, scope, role and expected outcomes from the CoP. The role of AWARENET in providing an electronic platform and technical support to the CoP was also highlighted. Discussions during the meeting focused on the role of the CoP and priority areas of focus, potential activities, membership structure and engagement requirements, , among others.
